BREAKING : Suspected user database breach at Westnet.

As with previous posts, an investigation is allegedly underway at Westnet, an Australian Internet Service Provider that forms part of the massive iiNet owned network of ISPs where a suspected hacker has gained access to the Westnet user database possibly containing personal information and passwords is offering the data for sale to interested parties.

At this point, it is not suspected that any payment information is disclosed in the breach.

EZiWireless advises all Westnet subscribers to change passwords as soon as possible.

Apple WWDC expected to launch music streaming service.

The annual Apple event aimed at developers often highlights updates to services and software within the Apple ecosystem is tipped to unveil a subscription based music streaming service to compete with the likes of Spotify and other music streaming specialists.

Other updates to iOS and OSX, the operating systems that power iPhones, iPads and the Mac laptop and desktop computers can include increased stability and a rumored kit of developer tools aimed at the home automation push going on in the leading edge of the technology market.

South Korea Wins 2015 DARPA Robotics Challenge.

They came from all corners of the globe chasing the US$2m prize and a chance to prove they can build a better robot to handle disaster situations in the annual event held in Pomona, California over the weekend.

Team Kaist from South Korea took out the top prize with a score of 8 points and a course total of 44:28 followed by American teams IHMC Robotics and Tartan Rescue also posting scores of 8 points and times of 50:26 and 55:15 respectively.

The challenge consists of obstacle courses, driving challenges and dexterity challenges used to simulate possible scenarios that could be encountered in a disaster similar to conditions that could be expected at events like the Fukushima reactor failure.

The event was live streamed over youtube and there was no shortage of spills.
