It comes as no surprise that Formula 1 motorsport is one of the most tech-heavy sports out. You name it, Formula 1 has technology plugged into it. Engine management, telemetrics, driver monitoring and now live thermal imaging broadcasts are adding another layer of information about this motorsport.
Take a look at the video below and you can actually see the heat stresses on the tyres and how cornering, braking and acceleration changes the heat distribution on the tyres. There is another video out there of a crash as seen by thermal imaging. You can actually see the heat of the tyres reach the upper limits of the imaging gear as the driver stands on the brakes and momentarily locks up just before impact.
For me I like getting a new perspective on things and this is no exception.
