I have just seen that the iOS 7 update is now available for iPhones 4 and later, iPad 2 and later and iPod Touch 5th Generation with varying levels of features depending on your device.
If you want to take the plunge but want to leave the option open to roll back the update in case things don’t work out…
- Backup your iDevice either to the cloud or better still to a computer using iTunes.
- Go to The Firmware Umbrella and install Tiny Umbrella for your Mac or PC. This will come in handy in case you want to get your iOS device to it’s previous state.
- Use Firmware Umbrella to make a last snapshop of your device.
- Go to Settings -> software update and check for updates. If you see that iOS 7.0 is available, plug your device into a charger, start the download and install and go find something to do for a while. Most of these upgrades take a while to happen.
- Enjoy a “new phone”.
