Cerber Ransomware gives cryptoviruses the ability to talk to victims.

CryptoPrevent PremiumIn a new development with ransomware, Cerber is a new variant of the rapidly growing threat of cryptoviruses or ransomware.

The payload not only encrypts user data and includes instructions to pay ransom demands but the threat now also included a text-to-speech engine that allows the virus to talk to the victims.

The creepiness is not the only issue but Cerber has been advertised on a private Russian-language forum as a service meaning that even criminals that lack the required skills to write and control the cryptovirus now have access to the technology. This will open the door to a wider criminal community and has security experts tipping that the incidence of this threat will only become more widespread in the near future.
