Kodak filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year and the steady march to the end of Kodak’s days continues.
The Kodak online gallery used by US and Canadian users holding around 5 billion images is bring migrated to Shutterfly servers over the next few months. Keep in mind that these images are priceless memories so it comes as no surprise that Shutterfly is taking extra care in making sure everything goes right.
The process of copying the files to Shutterfly’s servers is being done in triplicate. Three copies of the data is being taken to make absolutely sure that the photos do not go missing during the transfer.
If a company like Shutterfly can afford to make 3 backups then making at least one online backup for your precious memories is a pretty good idea. (Links to the EZiBackup page – have a read)
